Advent Quiet Day 2008 - Archbishop David Moxon

A day of reflection for laity and clergy as we begin our Advent journey.


Date: December 13, Saturday 9.30am to 4pm (Coffee and tea available from 9.30am)

Cost: $15 (Please bring your own lunch)

JANUARY 2009

·   SIX DAY DIRECTED SILENT RETREAT -  a live-in retreat limited to four (4) people facilitated by Spiritual Director Gabrielle Daly-Fong. Gabrielle will facilitate this retreat using some of the Ignatian exercises alongside creative ways to be with and in God.

11 – 17 JANUARY 2009

APRIL 2009

·  PALLIATIVE CARE MASSAGE TUITION

Facilitator - Peggy Dawson

Level One, focusing on training to provide massage tuition for those who wish to work with people suffering life threatening illnesses, the elderly, and those with physical and mental disabilities. Accommodation available on request.

15 – 20 APRIL 2009

$450 (a deposit of $50 is requested in a month in advance)

 The Trainer, Peggy Dawson, has been teaching in this field for 15 years. She was trained in the San Francisco School of Massage and worked in the "Coming Home" Hospice, Mother Teresa's Home for people living with AIDS, and the Pacific Presbyterian Hospital. Peggy teaches each year in Italy, Australia and New Zealand. She is an International Trainer of Infant Massage, and has worked in an Orphanage in China with 220 babies and children. She is deeply committed to the integration of massage therapy, Healing Touch Ministries and Spiritual Direction.

·  PRACTISING THE PRESENCE OF GOD Programme:

The SEED team invites you to join them on a seven-month adventure in the love of God exploring contemplative prayer. Starting May 2009, the programme runs monthly on a Friday from 8 45 a.m. - 4 30 p.m. and will include a live-out, five-day prayer workshop and a live-in, five-day silent retreat.  Enrolment for the programme begins in February, involves an interview, and a requirement to have the support of a Spiritual Director for the duration of the programme. To augment the Practising the Presence of God programme, the SEED team are facilitating five additional workshops throughout the year which will also be open to the general public.

Private Retreats


Houchen House is available for individual daytime quiet days. Daytime quiet day facilities include use of a suitable room, Chapel, grounds and labyrinth. Tea/coffee provided.

Cost: $15. $40 with Spiritual Direction.

Thursdays 8am – 30 min Eucharist
